New York, NY-November 11, 2013 — S&P Dow Jones Indices announced today that as part of the integration process between S&P Indices and Dow Jones Indexes, all Dow Jones-branded indices will adopt the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®)1 system starting with the next annual reconstitution to be effective after the close of business on the third Friday of September 2014.
A timeline describing all phases of implementation and other related details will be provided to clients by the end of February 2014. For your convenience, we are providing clients with a map
of the GICS and the Dow Jones proprietary classification structures for comparison purposes. Note that the GICS classifications in the file are updated to reflect the recently announced revisions at the Industry and Sub-Industry levels to be effective in 2014.
