Craig Braswell, Senior Director, Global Index Operations

Craig Braswell is Senior Director of Global Index Operations for Dow Jones Indexes and oversees daily calculation, maintenance and distribution of all Dow Jones indexes across four offices in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He is responsible for day-to-day operations; development of index methodologies; and coordination of index launches with clients and vendors. He also manages the relationship between Dow Jones Indexes and Dow Jones’ publications by providing market and stock table data to The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and Dow Jones Newswires. Mr. Braswell is a member of the Dow Jones Index Oversight Committee, which ensures the quality of all Dow Jones indexes.
Additionally, he serves as Business Information Director. In this role, Mr. Braswell is the lead representative for Dow Jones Indexes regarding all technology initiatives and coordinates data and systems-related projects with internal infrastructure and application directors.
Mr. Braswell joined Dow Jones & Company in 1997 as Senior Database Statistician for the Market Data Group, which researches and produces market data for The Wall Street Journal and other Dow Jones publications. He was promoted to Editor of the Market Data Group in 1999, where he oversaw company-wide content and data feed implementations.
Mr. Braswell was appointed to Manager of Index Operations for Dow Jones Indexes in 2001, where he led efforts to build the calculation system for the Dow Jones UBS-Commodity Index, the first non-equity index maintained by Dow Jones Indexes.
He has served in his current position since 2003.
Mr. Braswell has a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Richmond in Virginia. He and his wife Christine reside in Bridgewater, N.J.
