Michael A. Petronella, President
Michael A. Petronella is President of Dow Jones Indexes, a joint venture between CME Group, Inc. and Dow Jones & Company. He is responsible for the strategic direction of this business and also has operating responsibility for promoting and licensing all Dow Jones indexes.
Mr. Petronella has served in several accounting positions of increasing responsibility since he joined Dow Jones in September 1974. He became an Accountant in November 1977, was promoted to Senior Accountant in February 1980, Accounting Supervisor in October 1981, Accounting Manager in October 1984 and Budget Director in May 1988. He was named Assistant Comptroller/Budgets in October 1993, managing the Dow Jones and Dow Jones Telerate budget sections and overseeing the financial analysis section of the Comptroller’s department. Mr. Petronella was the founding Managing Director of Dow Jones Indexes in January 1997 and was promoted to President of the group in 2003.
A New Jersey native, Mr. Petronella received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an M.B.A. from Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
He and his wife, AnnaMay, have two children, Michael and Theresa, and live in New Jersey.
