Dow Jones Canada Select Equal Weight REIT and Equal Weight Utilities Index Methodology Update

New York, NY, May 2, 2013: S&P Dow Jones Indices today announced that it has made changes to the methodology of the Dow Jones Canada Select Equal Weight REIT Index as well as the Dow Jones Canada Select Equal Weight Utilities Index. These changes will be implemented with next index rebalance in June 2013. The new market cap and liquidity thresholds can be found below.

Eligibility Factors

Market Capitalization. In order to be eligible for inclusion in the index, a security’s float-adjusted market capitalization must be at least C$ 1 billion, based on the value-weighted-average price (VWAP) over the last three days of the month-end prior to the Semiannual Review.

Liquidity. Liquidity is measured by float turnover (total number of shares traded in the previous 12 months divided by float-adjusted shares outstanding at the end of the period). The liquidity ratio must be at least 0.50 for eligibility.

Buffers rules

Market Capitalization. A security is removed from the index, at the Semiannual Review, if its market capitalization is less than or equal to C$ 500 million, based on the VWAP over the last three days of the month end prior to the Semiannual Review.

Liquidity. Liquidity is measured by float turnover (total number of shares traded in the previous 12 months divided by float-adjusted shares outstanding at the end of the period). The liquidity ratio must be at least 0.25 for continued eligibility of existing index constituents.

The next rebalance will be implemented after the close of June 21, 2013.
