Dow Jones Hires Index Business Consultant as Director of Marketing and Business Development

NEW YORK (Apr. 19, 2001) — Dow Jones Indexes has a new director of marketing and business development for its international operations. Albert S. Neubert, 46, is a former consultant in international marketing and product development for Sydney Futures Exchange, Calvert Group, Information Management Network and Cantor Fitzgerald.

In his new role, Mr. Neubert is responsible for enhancing the visibility of Dow Jones Indexes to international users. Additionally, he oversees the global sales and business development staff of Dow Jones Indexes. Mr. Neubert said his focus in the new job is to develop and expand existing and new relationships with key participants in the index marketplace.

Before joining Dow Jones Indexes, Mr. Neubert spent two years as consultant. Prior to that, he managed indexes for Standard & Poor’s for 25 years.

Mr. Neubert was a member of the S&P Index Committee, which has responsibility for strategy and policy management of the S&P Indexes. He was also responsible for S&P’s global index business development.

“We are delighted to have Albert Neubert as a member of our index team. His 27 years of index experience, his business sense and his understanding of international markets are invaluable as Dow Jones Indexes furthers its global strategy,” said Mike Petronella, Managing Director of Dow Jones Indexes.

Mr. Neubert said, “I was drawn to Dow Jones Indexes for several reasons. The major one is that Dow Jones Indexes has a good but under-exploited product line, with a lot of potential in gaining really significant market share and making a great impact commercially.”
